DALLAS ZOO AND CHILDREN'S AQUARIUM AT FAIR PARK FIELD TRIP ADMISSION

Plan your field trip to the Children’s Aquarium at Fair Park today! Explore aquatic life from all over the world as you travel through different aquatic habitats, without leaving Dallas. Touch a live stingray at the popular Stingray Bay, or stop by the tidal touch pool and meet some tide pool animals up close!

Reservations cannot be made during the dates of the State Fair of Texas

Aquarium Self-Guided Field Trip; Grades All levels

Cost: $4/student, $4/adult 1 free adult per 10 students, $4/additional adult. Parking at Fair Park is managed by the City of Dallas. Parking is usually free unless there is a paid event at Fair Park. The Children’s Aquarium at Fair Park has no control over parking fees in the event that the City of Dallas charges for parking at Fair Park.


Classroom Programs

Sea Squirts: Tidepool
Grades: PreK-K
Length: 30 minutes


Discover life in a tide pool! Feel like you are taking a journey to a tide pool as you participate in this interactive program including live animals. This Preschool through Kindergarten program introduces students to reading and animal natural history. Programs are aligned to Texas Preschool Guidelines and Kindergarten TEKS.

Cost: $150/program (1-20 students) $7.50/additional student (max of 30 students). Price includes Aquarium admission. 1 free adult per 10 students. $4/additional adult.



Aquarium Close-ups:
Aquatic Adaptations
Grades K-3rd
Length: 45 minutes



Gills, fins, scales and tails…how are aquatic animals able to survive under water? They adapt! Learn about these special aquatic adaptations in this interactive program that includes live education animals.

Cost: $160/program (1-20 students) $8/additional student (max of 30 students). Price includes Aquarium admission. 1 free adult per 10 students. $4/additional adult.

Predator Instincts
Grades 4th-5th
Length: 45 minutes



Predators come in all shapes and sizes, from the tiny dragonfly nymph to the mighty shark! Learn all about aquatic predators in this exploration based program. (Program contains both indoor and outdoor components).

Cost: $160/program (1-20 students) $8/additional student (max of 30 students). Price includes Aquarium admission. 1 free adult per 10 students. $4/additional adult.



Mollusc Lab
Grades 4th-8th
Length: 60 minutes



Mollusc mania awaits in this hands-on, lab based program! Explore the diversity of the phylum Mollusca which contains over 85,000 species. This interactive program includes a squid dissection!

Cost: $90/program (1-10 students) $9/additional student (max of 18 students). Price includes Aquarium admission. 1 free adult per 10 students. $4/additional adult.


Guided Tour Program

Guided Tour:
Aquatic Habitats
Grades: K-8th
Length: 45 minutes



Salt water, fresh water, intertidal and more! In this instructor led program, students visit interactive stations throughout the Aquarium to learn more about the aquatic habitats and unique animals that inhabit each area. As students explore the aquatic habitats they will learn the importance of water quality and the conservation of water.

Cost: $160/program (1-20 students) $8.00/additional student (max 30 students). Price includes Aquarium admission. You receive 1 free adult per 10 students. $4/additional adult.


General Scheduling Information

What groups are eligible for the education admission rate?

Eligible groups include: preschools, state licensed daycares, public or private schools, homeschool groups, scouts, shelters, City of Dallas recreation centers, YMCA/YWCA, Boys/Girls Clubs, and organized college classes (where a teacher is bringing the students for a class project).

What groups are NOT eligible for the education admission rate?

Ineligible non-education groups include churches, corporations, senior citizens, Mother’s Day out, family groups, birthdays, travel companies, non City of Dallas recreation centers, non-profits, college trips (not led by teacher), etc.

Making a Reservation

To schedule a field trip or program, you must submit a reservation form at least two (2) weeks in advance of the requested date. Programs are offered Monday through Friday between 9:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Your field trip or program is confirmed when you receive a confirmation letter from us which includes a reservation number. Reservations cannot be made during the dates of the State Fair of Texas.

Field trips that include a program must be paid in full, for the total number of students requested, at least one (1) week prior to the scheduled date. Self-guided field trips may be paid in full prior to the scheduled date or on the day of the visit.

Cancellation/Reschedule Policy

Your reservation may be rescheduled once without penalty. Reschedule dates should be at least two (2) weeks in advance. Additional reschedules will be charged $25 per instance. Cancellations must be received in writing at least one (1) week prior to the date of your visit. Refunds will not be issued for any amount under $20, for cancellations made within one (1) week of the scheduled date, or for no-show groups. Your school (and/or Big Thought/ArtsPartners if using AP funding) will be invoiced for the total reservation cost if you fail to show for your field trip/program or cancel within one (1) week of the scheduled date.

The Dallas Zoo and Children's Aquarium at Fair Park are open rain or shine. Field trips and programs will be cancelled if DISD is closed due to inclement weather. Please contact Education Reservations (469-554-7300 or Education@DallasZoo.com) as soon as possible if cancelling or rescheduling due to severe or inclement weather. Rescheduling fees due to DISD closure will be waived. Reschedule dates should be at least two (2) weeks in advance.

We will do our best to accommodate late arrivals, but we reserve the right to cancel or adjust programs as needed. The Dallas Zoo and Children's Aquarium at Fair Park reserves the right to change these policies without notice.

Code of Conduct

Teachers and chaperones will be held responsible for student conduct. Any behavior that endangers the safety of our animals, staff or other visitors will result in your group being expelled from our facility.

  • DO have students wear nametags that include their name, school, and teacher’s name (no safety pins)
  • DO stay with their assigned chaperones at all times.
  • DO understand that animals, like us, need rest and privacy. If an animal is not visible, check back later.
  • DO pick up your trash. Please dispose of garbage in trash or recycling bins.
  • DO stay on pathways.
  • DO walk, not run.
  • DO use quiet voices.
  • Do be patient and look all around the exhibit. Animals are adapted to blend in with their surroundings. They may be resting nearby.
  • DON'T feed animals. They are on a carefully balanced diet.
  • DON'T climb on rocks, walls, or fences.
  • DON'T deface Zoo or Aquarium property.
  • DON'T pick plants or flowers.
  • DON'T tap on exhibit glass, scream, spit and/or throw objects of any kind into exhibits. This behavior is disrespectful and will not be tolerated.
